Feline Heussen

Implementation and maintenance of food safety and quality management systems

Feline is a consultant involved in implementing food safety and quality management systems at, mostly, companies in the food chain (systems such as BRC, IFS, ISO, and FSSC22000). Next to this, she is engaged in several international projects focussing on entrepreneurship, value chain management, value addition, gender, food safety, and data gathering. These projects are, amongst others, in Rwanda, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mozambique, Kenya, Uganda, and Ethiopia.

She has an academic background in both (user-oriented) food quality management and consumer behaviour, as an alumnus of the Wageningen University & Research. Feline, therefore, also gained knowledge in the fields of consumer wishes, behaviour, marketing, market research, product development, and sensory science.

This multi-disciplinary background helps her in identifying the needs and wants of different stakeholders along the chain, from farmer to consumer, and translating these into practical innovations.
