Vihannes Laitila Growers Organization from Finland, a marketing organisation that takes care of the sale for 80 open-field growers, recently received its GLOBALG.A.P. certificate option 2. In 2016 the company started with the implementation of GLOBALG.A.P. together with 20 of its affiliated members. The company chose group certification, also known as option 2.
Alma Ruting mentored Vihannes Laitila and the 20 companies from the pilot group. She supported Vihannes with GLOBALG.A.P. advice and training and advised them on the implementation at the pilot group’s growers. Alma: “The biggest challenges were the interpretation differences between the Netherlands and Finland, but fortunately these issues were solved well, leading to a positive result.”
